I am interested in common stereotypes or preconceived ideas you have of Paris/French people and culture. I know people have them, so let’s hear them.
I will then compile them in a comprehensive list and try to prove them right or wrong when I got to Paris. To give your opinion, fill out the comment form below.
french woman do not shave their armpits… supposedly. gross. they indulge on chocolates and other sweets a lot? hmm.
They all smoke. Never shave their armpits. They eat a bunch of pastries, cheese, bread, and drink a lot of wine. They are very stuck up, and do not like Americans. There are a lot of sexy men. =]
A stereotype I have heard is that all French men are short. You’ll have to check that one out for me.
I hope all French men are tall and sexy. I would like some delicious food and a sexy French accent…but I’ll investigate these further.
Everyone thinks they wear baretts, love wine, smoke a lot, and are extremely sophisticated. Well from experience, they don’t all wear baretts, but some people do; they love to drink and smoke; some are sophisticated, but they are very rude if you are American and if you are a picky eater, you will find that it is impossible to find a meal.
The French indulge: cream, chocolate, bread, pastries, wine…but in small portions; this is why they don’t gain weight. Also, they walk everywhere, much more active than America. They are passionate romantics and the men are tall, dark and handsome. They have great fashion sense.

oooh i forgot one thing…when i was in paris this really hot military dude blew me a kiss..and i about leaped over to him but my dad stopped me! he was delicious! so some of the men are very nice to watch!
and very tricky at the same time too..they will have you caught without your realization and you will be stuck married to them for the rest of your life! be careful because they are good at catching women and setting them free rather quickly if i may add…

I think that French people believe that France is the best country in the world, which is pretty funny if you ask me! Why you may ask yourself?….because it is not!
The food is questionable..snails/raw meat/etc…what more could you ask for?
I once got served a hamburger there, only to find out that they serve it without any buns. I mean I didn’t order a patty! And they barely lifted their fingers when I pleasantly asked for a side of ketchup to smother over the disgusting large piece of meat in front of my face.
In France, if you don’t speak French they will mess with you; they figure that if you didn’t take the time to learn their language, that you aren’t worth the time to translate for!
